Are we all
gonna die?

Six fears. Six rolls.
From extinction to the good life.
Where do you put us?

ABOUT THE MAKING

An experiment in collaboration

Built with Claude over many long evenings. A test of how far you can push an AI as a creative collaborator. What it writes, what it argues, where it runs out of road.

The subject is serious. The method is part of the question.

WHAT THIS IS

Things that could end us

Oxford. Cambridge. The UN. Researchers who study extinction risk professionally. They disagree on timing.

The Machine. Planet. War.
Pandemic. Collapse. Brainrot.

Not hypotheticals. All underway in some form. None requiring a single villain. Most slow enough to ignore.

One of these keeps you up at night. Probably more than one.

This is not a prediction. It is a position.

Which one keeps you up at night?

THE MACHINE
AI we built and no longer fully control.
PLANET
Living systems we damaged that are no longer waiting for us.
WAR
Old ways of killing, scaled to end the argument for everyone.
PANDEMIC
2020 was not the worst case. The tools for something worse exist.
COLLAPSE
The order that holds until enough of it stops at once.
BRAINROT
Falling fertility, fractured attention, no shared reality.

Here is what people who think about this actually read. And watch. And do.

Wall-E. 2008.

A film about Planet, Collapse, and Brainrot simultaneously. The Earth is abandoned. Humans float in chairs, screens in their faces, bodies soft, attention gone. A robot tidies up after us. It is a children's film. It is also the most complete vision of where several of these risks converge. Start here.

Why this exists

One evening, pizza, my sons and their partners. The conversation turned to AI. To the shape of the world they were inheriting and I had helped make.

I came away thinking: people feel this. They just never quite say it. The subject gets hijacked too easily by doomers, by preppers, by people who have already decided.

This is for everyone else. The people who worry quietly and think it is probably worth talking about.

Six fears. Your honest score. A considered guess, not an expert opinion, just a position. You have lived through enough. You are allowed one.

THE MAKER

Martin Riber Andersen

I started at LEGO at twenty-one. Some of it worked out. What followed was thirty years across industries, organisations and countries, building things that did not yet exist.

I go where something needs building.

This site is a side project. A question I could not stop turning over. If you have a considered position on any of it, I would genuinely like to know.
